10-year-old Jetta Fosburg never expected to be a victim of bullying when she cut her hair and donated it to child cancer patients, but that’s precisely what happened to the Dayton, Ohio girl.
Jetta cut 14 inches off her locks and contributed the hair to the Wigs for Kids charity because she said she had several family members who battled cancer and she thought it was a good thing to do.
After Jetta’s school allegedly failed to deal with the bullying issue, Jetta’s mom, Heidi Fosburg, decided to fight back by pulling her daughter out of the school and filing a complaint with the local school district. She also started a Facebook page, Stand With Jetta. Fosburg’s goal she says is to show support for Jetta’s willingness to help others, and to help rebuild the young girl’s confidence.
